Lipolysis is an effective aesthetic treatment that serves to remove fat deposits and decomposition them on certain parts of the body. In the past few years it has been increasingly used as a treatment for body contouring, because it's not involve invasive surgical procedures, such as liposuction and the use of silicone implants.

This treatment is a process of breaking down fat cells with the help of chemical or physical methods, and we distinguish two types of lipolysis - injection and laser.

Injection lipolysis is a method that uses substances such as phosphatidylcholine and deoxycholic acid to break down fat cells. Chemical substances are injected directly into the tissue through injections and allow the body to eliminate it permanently through a naturally lymphatic system. Another type is laser lipolysis and it serves to melt fat deposits from certain parts of the body and shape it with the help of laser energy.

In injection lipolysis, the injected substance causes an inflammatory reaction by breaking down the membrane of fat cells, which leads to the breakdown of fat on the treated part of the body (dewlap, stomach). The decomposition process lasts up to eight weeks, and after that comes a gradual reduction of fat deposits. In laser lipolysis, a laser beam is used to go deep in the skin and target the fat cells, turning them into liquid which is then eliminated through natural metabolic processes and is mainly used for areas such as the stomach, arms, and thighs.

The advantages of lipolysis are minimal invasiveness, precise shaping of specific regions, quick results, and a short recovery period. Besides advantages there are also possible risks and side effects such as redness and swelling, temporary pain, but it is also possible that there may be an improper breakdown of fat, which gives us bumps on the skin. For this reason it's very important that the treatment is performed by professionals and in specialized centers.

Lipolysis is a treatment intended for anyone who has localized fat deposits that cannot be removed by diet or exercise. It is not suitable for overweight people, pregnant women, nursing mothers, and people with certain medical problems or conditions.

This aesthetic treatment has been extremely popular and effective in the last few years because of results and safety. However it's necessary to look at every advantage including the risks, and consult with a professional before treatment.
