HydraFacial Treatment for the Face

HydraFacial Treatment for the Face

HydraFacial treatments for the face are noninvasive and nonsurgical procedures that show results immediately after completion. There is no recovery time after such a treatment.

These treatments are newer in aesthetic technology and are characterized by the ability to hydrate the skin deeply.

Benefits of These Treatments:
  • Removes dead skin cells from the face
  • Deeply cleans impurities from the face
  • Hydrates the skin
  • The skin is renewed, soothed, and hydrated, making results immediately visible.
  • These treatments comprehensively create a perfect formula for a radiant appearance and have no side effects.

The treatments consist of 4 steps: exfoliation, peeling, vacuum comedo extraction, and hydration.

Exfoliation

Exfoliation is a mechanical facial treatment that removes dead skin cells and promotes the formation of new ones. It can be performed in various ways, but in the case of HydraFacial, it is done with a machine. The device circulates water at high speed, achieving a deep cleansing effect on the skin. This method of exfoliation does not irritate the skin, and redness quickly subsides.

Peeling

Peeling encompasses many procedures or products that remove dead skin cells. There are various types of peeling, such as:

  • Physical peeling, which is done with granules or brushes
  • Chemical peeling, which is performed with acids or enzymes
  • Laser peeling, which is performed with a laser or microdermabrasion.

In this case, peeling uses a mixture of glycolic and lactic acids. Algae and yeast are added to this mixture to preserve the skin's hydration. Chemical peeling helps to open the pores further.

Vacuum Comedo Extraction

Vacuum comedo extraction is a cosmetic procedure that removes comedones from the skin. Comedones are clogged pores that often occur due to the accumulation of excess sebum (oil), dead skin cells, and impurities. There are two main types of comedones:

  • Open comedones (blackheads): These have an open surface, exposing the contents to air. Due to oxidation, the top turns black, giving it a dark color.
  • Closed comedones: These are locked beneath the skin's surface and usually appear as small, white bumps. Since they are covered by skin, they do not oxidize and do not turn dark.

Causes of comedones include:

  • Excessive sebum production
  • Dead skin cells that are not adequately removed
  • Hormonal changes
  • Use of oily or comedogenic skincare products
  • Bacteria that cause inflammation

This procedure removes everything that should not be in the pores, such as makeup residues, impurities, and blackheads.

Hydration

Skin hydration maintains a certain level of moisture, which is essential for a healthy and smooth appearance.

In this treatment, serums like hyaluronic acid are used because they can retain moisture in the skin.

After all these procedures, masks or creams are applied for additional skin protection, and SPF may also be used.

The treatment lasts 30 to 60 minutes and does not require recovery time.

Advantages and Disadvantages

HydraFacial has advantages and disadvantages like any other treatment, and how the skin reacts can vary from person to person.

Advantages:

  • Deep facial cleansing
  • Hydration
  • Minimal recovery time
  • Adaptability of treatments for problematic skin
  • Improvement of skin tone

Disadvantages:

  • Higher cost, as this type of treatment, is more expensive than home care
  • It is not a long-term solution and requires repeated procedures to maintain the effects
  • Potential irritation in individuals with overly sensitive or problematic skin
  • The treatment requires a professional; it is not recommended to perform it at home
  • Skin issues such as acne cannot be solved solely with HydraFacial.
