Aging vision

Description

Presbyopia or aging vision is problem to focus the close object due to loss of the lens elacticity in the eye. The lenses lose the elacticity as we are getting old. The lenses already begin to lose the elasticity at the age of ten but the symptoms appear only after the age of 40.

Symptoms

Symptoms are: difficulties to see objects that are close, headache and eye fatigue.

Overview

Anamnesis is being taken and physical examination is being done. Special ophthalmological tests are done, too.

Therapy

Treatment usually consists of wearing the eye glasses or contact lenses to correct problems with vision. The eye glasses that are not odered from the optician may have effect only to some patients.
