Adjustment disorder (poor adjustment to life stressor)

Description

Reaction to stress that results with significant symptoms in emotional behavior and inability to function normally. The disorder usually causes symptoms of depression, anxiety or both. In more severe cases the patient might have suicidal thoughts. Symptoms begin within the period of 3 months from stressful life event.

Symptoms

Depression, anxiety, desperation, insomnia, nervousness, agitation.

A medical history is taken and a physical and psychological examination is performed.
