Anal tear

Description

Anal fissure or anal crack represents a split in the lining of the anus mucous membrane cut in lower part of the anal channel. In most of the cases, anal fissures appear when big, hard stool stretches the anus too much and tears sensitive inner mucous membrane.

Symptoms

Rectal pain, constipation, bloody stool.

Overview

Anamnesis and physical examination will be performed. Additional exams can include anoscopy.

Therapy

Treatment can include: stool softeners, adding fiber in alimentation (substances that absorb water when they are in the gastrointestinal tract), softer cleaning, vaseline, sitz bath, anesthetic fats and / or targeted muscle relaxants.
